Coach Em started her professional fitness career in 2007 when she obtained her Personal Training certification from the American Academy of Personal Training in NYC. She has worked with clients one-on-one, in small group settings, and also in larger CrossFit/ bootcamp style classes. She fell in love with CrossFit after her first WOD in February of 2012 and has been deeply immersed in the culture ever since.
Coach Em’s fitness philosophy is that you can only become strong where you are flexible, and she stresses the importance of listening to your body and appreciating it’s abilities and limits to optimize your fitness potential. She believes it’s important to embrace weaknesses as well as strengths, and helps create a supportive and encouraging environment to do just that.
As a self-proclaimed “nutrition nerd,” Coach Em has tried it all from Paleo to Vegan and believes that because no two people are the same, there is no cookie-cutter approach to a healthy diet. She loves to geek out on helping individuals find the tools they need to develop their own unique way of eating to fuel their lives and support their goals in and out of the gym.
Coach Em’s mission is to positively influence everyone that she comes in contact with to become not only their healthiest, but also their happiest.
